Great team. With the greatest darts player of all time throwing in, and two of the finest basketball players on the planet jumping, we'd definitely have no problems in the lineout. A lot of power up front too. I'd definitely move Mayweather out of loose head though, way too light.

Go with it, I think he's going somewhere with this.

Did you just decide that since Phil Taylor can throw a dart, he'd be a great lineout thrower? Since Ussain Bolt is fast, he'd be a great winger? Since Messi is small, he'd be a great scrum half?

This topic makes no sense. :S
But to answer your question, they'd be annihilated.

    Yes.

Bit worried about Tiger at fullback though, any better ideas? Edit: Casillas maybe?

Sean Cavanagh has to get in somewhere here surely.
    Ditto Graham Geraghty.

Andrea Pirlo's much better with the ball than Gerrard! He might not be as effective a player but his shooting and passing are unreal. Would be good at out-half.

Joe Canning would have lots to offer too i'd reckon.

Edit: Although he's far too skillful to play rugby of course!

That's what I'm talking about size=everything, although you're cutting our lineout options a bit tight with Bin Laden at lock. He could slot in at scrum half and that would give us some interesting combinations at half back with Obama. The political undercurrent would really keep defenses guessing.

If we are looking for a solid platfrom in the line out I think its would be wrong to look past:

I came across a similar enough post on another rugby site and I've been thinking about it aswell. The rules were: current sportsman, and only one from each sport.

    My team would be:

    1 Batista - Wrestling
    2 Phil Taylor - Darts
    3 Mariusz Pudzianowski - Strongman
    4 Michael Phelps - Swimming
    5 Wladmir Klitschko - Boxing
    6 Shaquille O'Neal - Basketball
    7 Henry Shefflin - Hurling
8 Matthew Richardson - Aussie Rules
    9 Felipe Massa - Forumla 1
10 Peyton Manning - American Football
    11 Chris Hoy - Cycling
    12 Roger Federer - Tennis
    13 - Cristiano Ronaldo - Soccer
    14 - Usain Bolt - Atheltics
    15 - Kiearan Donaghy - GAA

    Harney / Ahern / Cowen

would be my front row, and I couldnt care less if they got killed, they are playing for 80mins.

Could technically cheat and have MMA, Rugby League, Aussie Rules and GAA players in there. ;)

I always thought a Kane and Undertaker second row would be pretty fearsome.

I wouldn't have Roy Keane at 6, he'd be destroyed! John Daly as an impact sub for the front row.

whats with everyone picking taylor at 2? Surely brady or manning would be the best choice. In fact throw one in at hooker and the other at scrumhalf

Outrageous! Manning's a great QB, but there's no way he should be on a rugby team... and I doubt he'd have much of a kicking game.

If you're looking for an American Footballer (if you can only pick one from the sport) then look to a big, strong super-fast Safety, LB or RB to play at Centre. Shawne Merriman or Stephen Jackson would both be awesome at 12, while somebody like Ed Reed or LaDanian Tomlinson at their peak would be incredible at 13. Actually, with Reed's particular combination of defensive ability and elusiveness, he'd be a serious rugby player.

Born in New Zealand and also co-owner of National Rugby League team the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Makes no odds he's not getting in my team anyway, I don't think he'd be good for morale.

Rooney is a good shout though, he'd offer more of a physical threat from behind the scrum.
