    Nope, the contacts aren't saved on your pc, they're saved on a MS server... If you sign in on another pc the same contacts will still be there. You will lose any custom emotes that you have set up though
    Have you checked if the program is allowed access in windows firewall?
    Start > control panel > windows firewall > exceptions

    im on windows vista and updated to service pack 2 during the week

    Click on Start > Run, type/copy+paste the following:

    rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

    Thought that only worked on XP for the version that comes preinstalled?

    For Vista you should just have to go to control panel > programs and features, then find it on the list, right click and uninstall
