    Hi All,

So I am planning on getting the iphone 3g s on launch date (fingers crossed) and would really appreciate some feedback on what screen protection and case you would recommend for the iphone.

I was looking at the incase bamboo slider as a case so would love any feedback on that or the slider range in general.

I assume I should still protect the screen so would like to know what you are using and whether you would recommend it.

    Thanks All,
    Marie

I had one of these and it was excellent. http://tinyurl.com/5rj6yq it's made from the same stuff they put on helecopter blades appaerently! I didn't put it on the back as used a silicone case. That was good as well, made it feel more secure in your hand. It did tear slightly either side of the home button though, but not enough to render it unusable.

Even arrived from the US in 3 working days, couldn't believe it.

Thanks guys :) I will have a look into both links.

I wonder if most people don't protect there phones!

Still like the idea of the incase slider case so might order one of those to start with :)

Anyone on here use one of these cases? Checking out a few reviews and they seem to be pretty good.

I like the green myself but out of the two you mentioned I think I would go with the wasp :)

Think I have changed my mind now to the Candy Shell.

    http://www.speckproducts.com/products/candyshell/iphone-3g/162

People seem to be having problems with the easy switch cases near the bottom of the phone getting loose.

Seems to depend on how you take the case off as to whether you end with the "Saggy Bottom" issue.

If you haven't already you should check out tube and search for top 5 cases...loads of reviewers have their personal fav cases and reasons why. The candy shell does ok in those but if I remember right is also hard to get on and off.

Ye i seen that. Seen a few vids on youtube showing the proper way to get off the candy shell and it seems ok.

the spine of the other case chews up the rubber from taking it off and on and it has to be taken off to clean out dust etc.

    Might get both :)

hey thanks for checking out my channel.

The Candyshell is a good choice in my opinion. You won't find fault. :)

Thanks Swingking :) will go have a look now.

What do you think of the incase slider and the leather folder type with the flap...vaja and SGP do versions.

cool channel swing, thanks for the link, some v useful stuff there!

What do u have on your phone now? I don't think i would like the rubbery feel of the iFrogz one. I am a bit fussy. I hate having to 'case' up my future iPhone, but i will at least wrap it up for getting dumped in the bag going to work. I am thinking of something like a neoprene case because at least it feels less sticky than silicone/rubber. had a silicone on an old iPod nano and it was so annoying

The incase slider is a really nice case but be warned, it can really mess up your screen shield; causing it to bubble.

I've heard great things about the vaja but they are expensive as they are made to order; handmade actually !!

I have a proporta leather flip style and it is really nice too.

If you are looking for a really thin case that hardly adds any bulk try the incipio feather or the contour flick.

Hi Swingking, can i ask u another question? as you are the case expert! (love the YT channel i have been watching it a lot this evening as this is my iphone research weekend!!)

do u use a screen protector? I dont like the idea of having a piece of film over it as i use it.
after seeing your site, i think i am going to go for a moshi pouch and a speck candyshell. just wondering if you think i will get away with no screen cover when i take it out of the pouch hehe

    thanks a mill!! :):)

Interestingly when I am not logged in I can see your two links but they are not there when I am logged into my account! It is very odd :)

Thanks for your feedback. I love hearing comments like yours.

Okay in answer to your question. I would hihgly recommend getting a screen shield for your iphone. It's extremely important for protecting the screen. Since owning an iphone 3g I have never used it without using a screen shield. The good news is if you buy the candyshell; then you will get a screen shield and a micofiber with the case. Hope that helps

Let me know if there is any case you are interested in and I will try to do a review on it in the coming days.

Excellent - thanks again! I have my Candyshell and Moshi pouch ordered!! Woo!
I will be sure to use the screen shield so! ARe those shields permanent or easy/hard to get on and off?

All I need now is the iPhone....bah! :)

Why hide your Iphone. I Just ordered one of these http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/fullbodyfilms-protection-pack-for-iphone-3g/

I find them by far the best, for protection and ease of use. I just use a silicon case at times as well then. Well for my Ipod touch. Hopefully il have an iPhone on Friday :)

See I would prefer a well designed case to that...it doesn't look very neat in the pictures but maybe they do not show it off to its best :)

God I could imagine tryin to put that on an iphone. I would probably end up with it stuck to my forhead or with around a hundred bubbles on the screen .

Yeah, those invisible shields look very awkward to me for attaching to the phone cleanly, without smudges or bubbles... I just know I'd make a balls of it if I tried it and I'd end up ripping it off!

I must say I'm not a big fan of those silicon or hard shells either, but am open to persuasion.

I'd quite like a nice leather case / sleeve for it, one that preferably allows me see the screen / answer a call without removing it from the case, and also isn't too bulky. Perhaps a tall order! Any recommendations?

Vaja or SGP do leather cases...Vaja are expensive but you can customise your colours....need to have the time to wait for it though! SGP leather cases get ok reviews...have a look see what you think.
