Lanzarote opinions please

    Anyone been to Lanzarote that booked themselves, not through a travel agency. Have been looking at travel agency prices and they are ridiculous!!!

    Any recommends of where to stay? Preferably somewhere quiet.

    We stayed in Playa Blanca last year and it was lovely. There are plenty of restaurants etc. but it's quiet and family oriented. We have small kids and didn't want somewhere with loud bars & clubs and drunks on the streets so it was ideal. There are some really lovely beaches just outside the town but the ones in town are nice too. We booked flights with Aer Lingus and a 3 bedroom villa from www.holiday-rentals.co.uk. Even with car hire it was still much cheaper than a package holiday from the travel agent.

    Hey this is pretty good, Gran canaria not lanzorote but I know the beach as its around the cliff from Puerto Rico and I have been there a few times.
    £150 for a week in June

    Thanks for all the replies guys, alpharooms looks very good, say nearer the time I should get a good deal to Lanzarote.Holiday rentals looks good also. Say will go to Matagorda or Playa los Pacillos.

    I went to Playa de los Pocillos myself. Lovely villas a few blocks from the beach. Nice walk along the strip of Puerto del carmen. It was walking distance to Rancho Texas (worth a visit actually).
