Target chest muscles instead of upper arms

I am having troule targeting chest muscles during resistance exercises lately. Whenever I do press ups, flys, bench press I seem to only get fatigued in my biceps/triceps. The only exercise I can feel my pecs/chest tiring is in the seated chest press machine and I'd rather use free weights.

    Any suggestions? I'm F 33 BTW

Just because you're not feeling it doesn't mean it's not being worked. I never ''feel it'' in my chest after bench pressing.

    Try changing your grip.

Too narrow a grip will target the triceps more.

yeah i used have the same problem, i switched to dumbell presses and found that it made a huge difference and really started to feel it in the pecs. another option is to use a wide grip with the barbell.

maybe consider pre-exhausting your triceps too, so that your chest has to work harder to make up for them

Bench pressing isn't all about your chest and depending on the length of levers etc it's pretty possible it's your triceps that are gonna get the most work on it.

You're asking how to specifically target the chest and the chest press machine feels like it hits it best so I'd say just use it.

I think the greatest burn I ever felt in my chest was after using the Hammer Strength Bench press machine.
