Call me crazy, but this looks like an electric bike with mass appeal

Easy to use, accesible price (under the UK cycle to work scheme) and a sort of ipod-ish chic to the design, which is where I think they've got it right.

    What do you think?

I can see Londoners going for it in a big way.

    Well? 10 votes

Yes, it is the next ipod like must-have gadget

It's 16kg, which is pretty light for a city bike.

NiMH battery though, which seems a old tech.

Not very good for ladies with skirts - that's a bad thing.

Not UCI legal as the frame is not a twin-triangle design. It will never sell unless triathletes latch on to it.

I'm not so sure - she says the cons are

"Too heavy for carrying up or down stairs very often. Could do with higher gears – I was permanently in the highest of the three, and my legs were going like the clappers at times. If it breaks, your local bike mechanic is unlikely to be able to fix it."

Also, anyone around here old enough to remember the Sinclair C5?? (didn't he do a bike too?)

Not exactly suitable for apartment living. Nice bike and very stylish - it could do well being hired out around town.

It's only compatible with short skirts. This is a very good thing.

The whole process is easy – unless, like me, you live in a second floor flat and have to lug this weighty beast up several flights of stairs to the nearest plug point.

Aw crap. Why can't it be a detachable battery pack?

    (I still want one)
