Blu-Ray Home Cinema

    Hi All,

My 5.1 surround sound DVD gome cinema kit went on the blink a few months ago and I got rid of it.

At the moment I have a PS3 and am thinking about buying the Samsung BD3600, blu ray player.

I would really like to get back into the surround sound and now particularly with blu ray/HD. I was just wondering what the best solution is for this days:

    1. Blu ray home cinema kit - seem expensive and not much of them around at the moment.

    or

    2. get the Samsung BD3600 and buy a separate kit for the sound.

The only thing is I don't know what to be looking for - amp and speakers etc.. or how it all works?

    I would appreciate any assistance

how much are you looking to spend?

you dont need a blu ray player, as you already have the ps3.

buy a seperate amp (richer sounds have a good selection also do deals for boardies)
something like an onyko will allow hdmi.
you could get a stand alone blu ray but that adds to the expence.
the sony s350 is going for around 160 at the moment.
speakers then ..... huge choice again how much have you got to spend?

I take it you have a hd ready tv.

    Thanks for the info.

Assuming no need to buy a new player, I guess somewhere in the region of €400 - €500, But to be honest If I could I would like to try get something decent for cheaper than that. Not sure if that's joke, as in, is that any where near enough to pursue what I am after. I have previously, just bought the "all in one" home theatre packages, so I am entering new territory for myself here.

I have one smallish (32") HD LCD which will be my main tv for the next 2 months, then when I have a bit of cash I am looking to get the 50" G10 Plasma. Just moved to into my own first place so, building up stuff slowly but surely...

    Thanks

definitely go for separate receiver and speakers.
if you can, spend more on the speakers.

    32 tv is fine.
