Ok firstly you will need 3 scart leads.

Ok the sky box should be connected to the tv... using the tv port and not the vcr port as at present.

Connect the first scart socket to the second av socket on your tv. and the second scart on back of dvd to the vcr socket on back of sky box,

Now turn on your dvd player and select the second av channel on your dvd player that you used to connect to the sky box eg, Av2 or ext2

Now you should see the sky channel so hit record..

If it comes out in black and white the program may be macroprotected so you may want to try an rf connection and tune it into the dvd player..

I'm guessing from the use of the term "Line 3" that you have a Sony DVD recorder? My recorder is a Sony and uses Line 1 and Line 3 terminology.

I actually use just one connection from the SKY box (the TV SCART) to the DVD recorder and then loop the connection from the DVD output to the TV using a second SACRT cable. The reason you use the TV SCART on the SKY box is that it will output its video signal as RGB (if you enable it in the SKY menu) and this provides a much better quality signal to the TV than the VCR socket which only provides composite video (called PAL on the SKY menu). The Sony DVD recorder will loop this full RGB signal without any problem. You record from the SKY box using "Line 1" - don't use Line 3 or decoder input as this is mainly for decoders used in the French market (according to my Sony manual).
