Are There Any Regulations Regarding Providing Showering Facilities In Workplace

    Hi all.

Looking for a little advice from the knowlegable people on boards.ie.

I work in a large company (about 1000 employees) and they are encouraging people to take part in the cycle to work scheme. I am thinking about joining, but the problem is showering facilities. There is one male and one female shower in the building...not exactly a workable ammount if you have a lot of people cycling in. I am going to talk to the facilities and HR department to see if there are plans to expand the facilities, but would like to find out if there are any regulations that would require them to have more showering/changing facilities.

The company can be pretty tight at times and of does things half-arsed, which is why I'd like to know if there are any laws governing this, or even H&S regulations.

    Thanks all.

No, they're not required to provide showering facilities.
