Wiki article is bitchy

OK someone I care for has a wiki article about them. the wiki talk section has some mean and bitchy comments which appear half personal.

a)How seriously should I take it?
b)Should I make sure the person can't see them?(to not hurt them unnecessarily)
c)Is it likely to be random folk who made the article or people who know him?
d)Can I report or deal with it, I feel threatened to do so in case they know me.

Nasty problem. And it's not like they are the kind of person that even deserves it.

If this is on wikipedia, I suggest you contact the wikipedia administrators. I am sure they have people to deal with this sort of thing.

However, if your friend is enough of a public figure to have their own wikipedia article, you must realise that there will always be people from the peanut gallery passing comment upon them, and they would want to get a thick skin to deal with the limelight.

They do have a thick skin, but it's still cheap, and lately I'm more protective of them..if it's random people pissing about it doesn't bother me but if it's folk who know them and act nice to them it's no good. It also makes me feel threatened cos if they know who I am it makes me uncomfortable, especially if I get it removed or question them, some people are cyberbullies

I guess it's also the fact that equivalent people don't get insulted it always seems like people who are some of the nicest get vitriol their way for no reason

Well in any case, this is not a personal issue - you need to bring it up with the administrators of the website and that is not something we can help you with.

    Good luck.
