    Hi everyone

I have a contract of employment to sign and there is a rumour in the company that if your weekly wages are printed in the contract you are not entitled to ask for a payrise...

Counld this be true? I think its daft...

Also it says you have to be mobile in that you have to be able to move from one place to another (e.g one day you could be working in athlone the next day in monaghan). Would there be a legal miles limit? or would i have to ask to put a limit in the contract?

    Thanks in advance

setting you wage on your contract turns it into a salary regardless of hours. unless the hourly rate is written down.

Is there any mention of annual reviews and such in the contract. Overtime bonus etc?

as for mobile there is no limit so long as you are reasonably rewarded ie milage allowance however you will not get more than the Civil service rate as this will cause tax issues for both you and your employer.

i know a company that has such a similar point about mobile in there contracts but in 10 years ive never seen it used.
