Personal Loan query?!

    I'm thinking about taking out a personal loan for a holiday in a few months. I'm currently a student and will be able to use my parents as gurantors. Im looking to get between 2500-3000 euro to be payed back over a 2-3 year period in order to finance my trip. Will this be possible in the current economic climate. Any advice that can be offered would be much appreciated. Cheers.

    It is possible to get the loan, but they may not agree to it for that period of time unless you can show some evidence that you can repay it. Who do you bank with?

    Unless It's a very special, once in a lifetime holiday do you really want to be still paying for it in 3 years time? Many years ago i decided that if i was ever going to borrow for a holiday i would only do so if it would be paid back before i went on my next trip. Since then i've reconsidered and now won't ever borrow for a holiday. If you're not going for a few months can you save what you would be repaying and maybe a little more and pay for it outright.

    Sorry, don't mean to preach, but longish term debt for such a short term thing is not the best idea in my mind.
