    looking at one of these up north, whats the procedure when buying cars or jeeps in the north or england? is VRT alot?

    this one is 2003, 71000 miles lots of extras for €5,000

    something dosn't seem right to me..

    any opinions?

    Revenue.ie shows that car costs €4716 to VRT. Thats a total cost of €9716. The Rav4 you mention seems to be a farmers car so it might have pulled a few trailers in its time.

    yup, beware flywheel problems, when starting the car you hear a clunk just as it fires, walk away. that means flywheel is on the way out and replacement is megabucks.

    If you're buying on the basis of fuel consumption, consider the much cheaper and more plentiful 1.8 2WD which is very close to the 4WD diesel model for mpg, downside is that it isn't as grippy, useless off road and the same as a car for towing.
