    1. what are we close to and how far away?
    2. we are hoping to have one week goin out all the time and another week relaxing, do u think this is a good place for it??
    3. is it expensived or cheap, how much would u need for two weeks??
    4. would u recommend any good day trips or things to do, any bars or niteclubs to go to, places to eat, places to shop.

Stalis is between Malia and Hersonnissos. I was there last year in August and there was no one in the place (Might have been a bad year). Its near the end of season at that time in Crete so all the resorts quieten down. Malia is the most lively, mainly English lads and girls. Hersonnissos is kinda like the Irish/Dutch quarter but I found it gets boring after the third night. Its a lot cheaper than here for food and cigarettes and somewhat cheaper for drink. Would recommend Star Beach resort for watersports etc and Somaria gorge for a day trip.
    Hope this helps

No problem, I can only speak for hersonnissos, but there's an Italian place called Il Camino on the strip. Best steak I ever tasted. And before you go you have to try a Pitta Gyros, they sell them everywhere, Its basically a cone shaped kebab topped with chips, great when your pissed!
There's also a 24hr bar located at the Mastorakis hotel in hersonnissos just in case the need arises.
