Form 12 tax return - I moved, so which address do I give?

    Hi,

I am trying to do my tax return for 2008 (form 12), and have a question about section 60: "Rent Tax Credit". I moved during 2008 and now I am not sure if I should put the new or the old address. Is it even important which one I put? I will send a cover letter anyway, so I can always explain things there.

Another slightly related question is about the percentage of gross income you can get relief on for pension contributions. Under 30 years of age you can get relief on up to 15% of gross income, and 20% for over 30. What happens in the year that you actually turn 30? Do you just use 15% or 20% for the entire year or do you use some other calculation?

I cannot find info on these 2 questions anywhere!

    Thanks!

In the year you turn 30, you are more than 30 years old, aren't you? You're 3.12345 or 30.98765 years old.

Put down the address where you rented on the section for address, but do include a cover note explaining your current address.
