You could set up an FTP server on your machine...not a great solution though.

A service like http://www.sendthisfile.com/ would probably be a better option.

I reckon though that your best option is going to be burning it onto a CD and mailing it.

funny i had tried sendthisfile.com and it sucks they limit your upload speed by quite a lot.

I'm actually trying skype out but it's comin up as it would take 5 hours... :(

    Any other ideas anyone?

Burn it to a cd and post it to him. probably quicker :)

Split the file up into parts and send it using megaupload or rapidshare.

whatever you do, you will be limited by your upload speed. You could split and .rar it and upload to rapidshare, you could password compress the file and post it as a torrent, or your best bet, would be to burn it and send the CD

5 hours ok, but whats your friends internet speed like and more importantly whats your upload speed.

Most of us here only have a max 1MB upload speed.

The suggestions of uploading it to a torrent site or a free file hosting site is your best bet if you insist on uploading it.

The CD option sounds a lot easier to me to be honest unless you can create a connection between both your PC's.

I'm sure this is possible with certain software butt again you'll be limited to your upload speed.

Mainly your upload speed will suck, so i may be better just to post the file. I take it that the file is not available online at the moment?
