The TR1 form is to register you personally as a sole trader. If you trade under another name apart from your own personal name, i.e. if your name is John Barry and you trade under Barry Consulting Services, then you need to register the business name of Barry Consulting Services with CRO. You can do this by downloading an RBN1 form from www.cro.ie

Would recommend you have a read of this as well as it might help:

Yes I read but still dont know what first. On tr1 form there is a question about business name. If I do that form first can I register name after with CRO ?

yes, but you should really do them at the same time. The reason being, is the CRO form asks you what date you've been using the business name since so you can back date it if needs be.
