    the internet

edit: sorry, tht sounds pretty smartass..... You'll pay a fortune for tab books in this country, get them online from the UK and you'll save yourself a few quid

A really good tab website is ultimate guitar.

If you want it in the same style to a tabbook then get powertab (it's free) and you can download tabs and listen to them and hear how correct they are! I have a tabbook or two and they generally are almost the exact same to powertab tabs, it's uncanny!

Hope that helps! Good Luck! :D

I used to chip in with a bunch of lads at my school to buy tab books back in the day.
Has the quality improved much since then?
Back then I used to earn a lot of cigarettes for correcting the tabs in the book.
Pearl Jam Ten was miles off in spots, Nirvana Nevermind was closer to Nevermind The Bollocks. Superunknown was spot on though IIRC.

You might have been better off posting your question here but in any event the best answer is, as others have said, Powells on Shop Street. Modern Music might have some as well but the last time I looked at their book selection it was nearly all instructional stuff.
If you want it in the same style to a tabbook then get powertab (it's free) and you can download tabs and listen to them and hear how correct they are! I have a tabbook or two and they generally are almost the exact same to powertab tabs, it's uncanny!
Personally I wouldn't go near Powertab. It might be free but it sounds terrible, has a really difficult to use interface and it hasn't been updated since 2000. Instead I would look at Guitar Pro. It's not free but it's very powerful and well worth the €60 price tag.

If we're discussing alternatives to tabbooks, can I suggest working with these before buying books/tab programs?

I know it's a bit smartass, but you would learn SO much more, and improve your technique exponentially compared with reading tabs.
