Theres an old man up the road from my ex that has a 1979 Golf Diesel two door and has asked was I interested in taking it away. It was last taxed in May 2007 and he recons it would start on a jump. It has been garaged most of ts life, the guy is no longer fit to hold a license.

I am not iinterested in it as I am only into Air cooled VW. only a few months ago I ended up giving my mothers 1985 4 door Golf away as a project for e100.

My old man had a 1981 two door van model and put seats and windows into it. He went to scrap it under the scrappage deal and they wouldnt accept it because it was still classed a van :p

I'd love to have it if you'd be will to pass on the details? It would make a great daily driver.

If its anything like my old mans the dash used to rattle when started, they were as crude as tractors. :)

If I had the space I would have taken this one for nostalgic sake, I could barely find a place in Dublin to do up my current project.

Worse still they use to stink of diesel fumes.

I think these are remanufactured in South Africa and sold as the "city". THere was one just off the Lahinch road in Ennis for years with a late 90ies plate.

No, Dutchcat called out last night and struck a deal with the owner, he will be removing it this weekend.
