cross trainers-good for cardio?

    Hi,are they any good for improving cardio?Training in thai boxing soi just want to improve my cardio on my off days,

    Yes they're great for cardio, although running is better.

    thanks,running isnt an option really get pains in my shins which make sit unbearable.

    Cross trainers are great for cardio work, much much easier on your legs and feet than running on the treadmill as when you're on the cross trainer you're not putting all of your weight on your feet ... you can also run on the cross trainer if you have it on a low resistance ;) works for me anyway...

    Cross trainer is easier on your legs but it's also easier in general. If you're not vastly over weight then I personally wouldn't worry about any impact issues. Shin splints are not a disease, just a sign that you're doing/wearing something wrong, it can be corrected.
