Hi all, I'm going on honeymoon in mid september and plan on spending 10 nights in either Amari Palm Reef Resort, Koh Samui or Bali Hyatt resort with a stop over in bangkok.
has anyone stayed in either resort or island and would they recommend either one of them?
Never been to any islands in Asia so want to make sure i pick a good one...

    HIya
Been to Ko Samui - it was great, but parts of it were really packed and it just felt like every irish and english traveller was there....Not sure if Bali might be just the same, I guess it depends on the quality of your resort and the adjoining beach. If it's a private beach, all the better.

Been to both Bali and Koh Samui ... if I were to choose I'd go back to Samui. The food is better, it's closer, and it's most touristy bits are less touristy then Bali's.

Regardless of which you go for, bear in mind that booking on the internet is usually the most expensive way to go about it - quite the opposite of Europe. Would recommend picking somewhere online and phoning them - book for 2 nights and have a look around on foot.. walk in's get the best price of all in my experience.
