    Hi!

I've just moved house and got my own gated yard. I've noticed that even if there's a sign stating "No parking" on the gate people seem to find that place very nice to park at. This is annoying since we use that gate fairly often.

What would be the best way of handling this? Note on the windscreen? Anyway of checking up owner through licenseplate? Can i call a clamper?

Edit: Noticed i placed this in the wrong place. Terribly sorry. :/

You can't call a clamper unless there is controlled parking in the area, e.g. you live in Dublin city centre or similar. Private no parking signs have no legal weight on public roads so unless there are double yellows outside (presuming its a public road), there is nothing that can be done.

Call your local Garda Station and inform them that a vehicle s blocking your entrance, depending on where you live they should call round. They can then issue the vehicle with an FCPS (ticket) for blocking an entrance, summons for wilful obstruction, and the list goes on and on of choices.

Actually, you can do something if someone is parked in front of your entrance. You cannot park in a manner that obstructs an entrance. Therefore, if someone is in front of your gate, then you can call the council and ask to have the car removed.

I don't know if the Gardai can do anything.

Is the car actually blocking the entrance?

I moved into a new house lately and don;t know if I'll be staying so haven't sorted a parking permit. Parked my car along a street and the woman of the house came out screaming at me that she would call the guards, despite the fact that there was enough room to reverse out a tractor and trailer.

I think its in TROTR somewhere that you must not park a vehicle in a manner which obstructs access and egress from any property or something like that..
