Registering Microsoft Products

    Hi there,

We got a new Toshiba laptop at the weekend that came pre-loaded with Office. When I open Word it looks to register the product which I want to do but cannot find the registration code anywhere in the box or in the manuals.

On the underside of the laptop is the registration code for Windows Vista but no mention of Office.

I want to register Office (I register everything). The laptop was purchased from a reputable store in Dublin.

Where else could I find this code?

check that it isn't the TRIAL version of 2007 :(

use it till the trial is over and then www.openoffice.org is free

or find some place to download and have the full version

assuming the op already has a full licence to own such a full version ;)

 If he has the trial version of MS Office then all he needs is a licence so he doesn't need to download anything anyway. But of course your point is that the op could pirate the software for free.

To the op, unless there is something about MS Office you must have, go with OpenOffice as mentioned above.

If you have a retail license of the same, the older versions of Office (eg. 2003) should install no hassle.

the toshiba laptops come with works pre installed as full versions - you can just use office till the the trial expires, and use office instead - I'm pretty sure I had to buy the full version of office to register it. When u are in that part, does it say somewher ethat u can x amount of days left in the trial?

Thank you everyone for coming back to me. I guess from what everyone is saying that this is a trial version.

Thankfully, I have a 3 PC licence of 2007 Home Edition of Office. I'll use this on the PC.

    Thank you again.
