trying to find somewhere that is vibrant, young but not tacky and a place for families(words of the mother) we were in america last year and went to a place called santa cruz which was fairly nice, obviously most resorts in europe beat that place but we really liked the family feel to it.

we've been to salou a few times and on a personal level i'm a fan but thinking of somewhere different.

You could try Mojacar in the south of Spain. Almeria is the airport. Falcon go there.

You should visit Croatia, it's quite nice and beautiful, or eventually Montenegro which is very cheap, you can get very good deals on both. I'd definitely go for Mediterranean!

    Odd remark.

The Travel & Holidays forum is a place where people come to ask questions about ANY aspect of Travel & Holidays.

Tripadvisor although a great website(Im a Moderator on it) has the same types of forums BUT you must go to each country forum individually to ask questions.

The OP in this case wants suggestions on where to go in the first place.

    *stops short of backseat modding.

You could give the south of France a go. It's ideal for all age groups, great for families and there is a lot more to it than a regular resort based holiday.

Heading to Budva in Montenegro in late July - the pics look amazing and by all accounts its working out as a very good DIY deal (approx. 480 each, flights & accom)

Really, really looking forward to it now...
