Why would you buy some plastic bike when the second hand Japanese bikes are so cheap at the moment?

You will trust that machine with your life, don't skimp on quality.

    Avoid OP

Better an established brand if possible.
It's an excellent time to buy a bike so take your time and find something great

Avoid those chinese bikes like the plague. Bike prices are very low at the moment and you will get a vastly superior machine from any of the japanese manufacturers at a decent price whether it's new or used.

There is a Chinese equivalent of the Ural Dalesman, Chang Jiang CJ750. Given the iffy reliability of the Ural, I cannot imagine this one.

A knock off of the Urine

These were a copy of the pre war BMW, so basically you would be purchasing a copy of a copy.

Personally I would not touch Chinese with a barge pole, It took me over 15 years to convert from old school Brit to Jap, now I wouldn't look back.

Chinese is far worse than anything that was ever produced out of England. You have unreliability along with extreme complex electronics, inferior bearings, cheap castings with flake off chrome etc.

Bring a Chinese made bike to a reputable mechanic and you will be quickly shown the door.

I wouldn't ride a Chinese motorbike if you paid me to.

No realistic after sales service, an undoubtably lower quality of parts & build quality, and good luck finding parts when something does break.

Yup. Reckon it could be a labour of love!!
Don't mind - it's a good way of getting to know the workings of a bike:D

They might be good in 20 years, but at the moment stay well away.

Yeah, but the build quality is terrible compared to Japanese bikes. I'd rather a second hand honda rebel than the Chinese replica brand new!
    No offence:D

    There so comfortable

ive clocked nearly 3000 on mine

this website is brilliant if you run into trouble with your bike

    http://www.jinlun-owners.co.uk/

    there really helpful

    what colour is it

i went with black and chrome

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15 Hughsie

    Yeah, they're pretty comfy man.

I know that website too - not much traffic on it though, but they're a sound bunch.

Had a few teething problems with mine since I got it - had to replace the indicator relay switch and then it wouldn't start (was push-starting it for a week!!) then realised the earth strap from the battery wasn't tightened enough. Hopefully that's the end of the problems.

Yeah, wanted the black & chrome myself, but the 250 only comes in burgundy and chrome - happy enough though...
