So basically if i dont have seanta ireland which the majority of people dont......... So i the only bit of coverage im going to see is on the RTE news at 6pm and 9pm........ which will be like 1 minute long.........

I can just imagine it now...... in other sporting news ....... David Gillick has just won world indoor gold medal in a NR ....and then they show him crossing the line...... because there running out of time they cant show the hole race.......and thats it then...........:mad::mad:

Try Universal sports im sure they may have some sort of feed to the racing they are usually pretty good and being a UScentric site this the only global championships this year for them so i presume that may influence them to do comprehensive coverage.

Just checked there they have the whole competition scheduled so you should be in luck.

Its free live streaming so doesnt cost a penny. i find this link handy especially for Major Marathon coverage and always find it good just go on to the site on the day and they will have a link on the front page to access the championship stream

Not sure what the story is spec wise in terms of speed but it does not run through media player so you dont need to install it

    From Diamond League website:
BBC Sport has announced that it will broadcast all 14 events of the new IAAF Diamond League in 2010

The five-year deal began at the weekend on 14 May with the Doha Grand Prix from Qatar which was broadcast live on the Red Button. Included in the Diamond League series are the British Grand Prix and London Grand Prix, key events in BBC Sport's calendar, which will once again be on BBC One and BBC Two.

Four events will be shown live on BBC Three, which will bring athletics to a whole new, younger audience. These are: Paris on 16 June and Stockholm on 6 July and the grand finale events of the series in Zurich on 19 August and Brussels on 27 August. All other events will be broadcast live on the Red Button.

Carl Hicks, BBC Athletics Editor, says: "It's great to be able to add the IAAF Diamond League to our athletics portfolio and is very exciting to be broadcasting on BBC Three to a young and diverse audience. 2010 looks set to be a great year for British athletics with the European Championships and Commonwealth Games taking place. This deal reinforces the BBC's commitment to athletics, and the sport's increasing profile as we build up to London 2012 where it will be a key focal point."

The IAAF Diamond League aims to build the worldwide appeal of athletics, showing the versatility and excitement at the top level of the sport to audiences. There will be two separate finals – one in Zurich and one in Brussels – with each staging 16 different events.

Looks like they have the Dublin Marathon rights this year. Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else. isn't it normally on Setanta?

There's also a big rumour going around that their ship is sinking.

The channel? That would be a shame if so considering all the athletics they broadcast.

Cork, Morton, Athlone, Antrim, Euro Team Championships and Dublin Marathon if memory serves, and I'm sure they used to do the Mary Peters before that went.

Not striking a deal with virgin was a big lost for setanta

Setanta/Eir will be fine. Their scheduling of athletics leaves a lot to be desired though.

At least Irish TV were putting everything primetime.

Tokyo marathon just started. Has 4 guys with PB's under 2:05 with Dickson Chumba heading the field looking for a 2:03 flat run. Also has Suguru Osaka(Japanese record holder), Yuta sh!tara(2nd fastest Japanese runner in History) and Inoue(4th fastest Japanese Runner in history) aiming for a sub 2:05:50 national record which would make them a cool €785,000.

The womens field is loaded with 3 sub-2:20 runners in Ruth Aga, Melesse and Florence Kiplagat leading the way. 9 women in the field have dipped below 2:23 before.

    Lashing rain there!

Stream is here with American commentary, race started 10 minutes ago.

Not sure what the craic is with the standards this time as nothing has been released about how the rankings or times work but it's going to be difficult for him with the two Robertsons taking two places.

He's picking it now through 35k, on 2:18:19 pace.

He’s originally from Spideal as far as I know so probably run for Ireland if he qualified.

2.18.47 Finish, very strong second half in tough conditions.

Edit: Big PB to as his previous best was 2.22.xx if I remember correctly.

5 and a half minute PB as well. Still got over a year to knock it down further.

That race was carnage. I've never seen so many elites jogging to the finishline.

At halfway, There was 46 on for a sub-2:10. 46th place at the finish was 2:19:58!!! No fear!

Decent performance in far from ideal conditions.

Typically BBC focused only on the "Mo show" in Men's race. A 20k workout with training partners... I swear they were laughing with 400m to go, as the script played itself out.

More interesting was the Women's race. Purdue let Twell get away with a pack of dozen male runners, but was confident in her own race plan despite being alone into the wind. Sailed past Twell - and most of the blokes - in the final miles. She has been training with Diver in Australia over the winter. Will be interesting to see how they go in London next month.
