At a quick guess, if you get parts from indy supplier and use indy garage about 300 euros.

Hey - Iv had worse reports so dont be too upset. There are no major jobs to be done on that list.
One thing i will say about the cv boot- is make sure the joint is ok. So if you turn the steering wheel fully and drive and you hear clicking- then you will need to sort it out and unfortunately, with the passat's suspension system, this can be a time consuming job to fix.

Thats a good result to be honest. No tricky faults where diagnostic equipment is needed, its all just mechanical wear and tear and anyone will be able to do it for you.
Couple of trackrod ends should be about 50 60 euro to buy and are simple to fit.
Balljoint is not expensive either as long as you dont have to buy the complete suspension arm. Balljoint is only failed on one side but I would get both done as they are safety critical.
Id also say 300 to 400 finished.
Test is doing you a favour. You really dont want to driving on worn balljoints. Wheel could just collapse on a corner when you need it most.
Get a good 4 wheel alignment done after the works are complete

Now imagine you had the pre nct check carried out that you were considering. They most likely would have found the worn joints as found by Nct but what else would you have forked out for? Loads of suspension bushes Id say, new brake pads and possibly a couple of shock absorbers. It would have ended up costing you a grand plus!

+1. Even though a few parts are needed, the work is straightforward and it shows the value of the NCT. I like that they mention that the tyres were <3 mm depth, have not seen that on an NCT report before.

Just make sure to get the work done and retest booked and done within the specified time. If you miss your retest you'll have to do a full test and things like emissions wil be checked again

    Update

Got a quote of e550-e600 to carry out work required.Does this sound reasonable?

Seems a bit much to me, shop around a bit.
Did they say how much was labour and how much was parts?
Labour should not be expensive, I think it would only be a mornings work for an experienced mechanic.

When the NCTreport goes onto 2 pages, then get worried.....

I had that before on a car, there was so much wrong with the car it went onto 2 pages and said "This car should not be driven".

Now that's something to get worried about, especially as it was mainly brake pipe corrosion (it was a UK import)
