Fab Direct are worth a call (http://www.fabdirect.com/) but more likely you're headed E-Bay direction. I bought one for an e39 a few years back from Lituania via e-bay at €150 versus main dealer €600..

Have a look on www.realoem.com then. You can work out what will suit there, buy one online and then have a local install it for you.

Keep an eye out for CD changer as well, handy to have.

Your car is most likely pre-wired for a 6 disc CD Changer. All you need to fit it is the bracket, and the changer. Bracket is about 20 Euro from any BMW garage. CD Changers go for between 150-250 Euro second hand. They're 400 new from BMW.

or you could just get an adapter panel and change the actual headunit they sell for around €20 and then you could put in any cd player you like contact your local incar entertainment shop and they could advise you best of luck with it J.(Auto Electrical Concepts)

what part of the world are you in and i could suggest someone in your area to help you personally i would get an ipod adapter for it and you can control the ipod from the stero or the steering wheel controls if you have them they only cost around €180 J.(Auto Electrical Concepts)

aftermarket stereos ruin the interior of BMW's (visually) for some reason.

agreed if you use a cheap adapter panel but if you buy the adapter panel for an m3 from bmw themselves it holds the stero in the center of the hole left by the factory headunit (small bit of modifaction required to the bracket behind the adapter panel) and you pick a decent headunit which matches up too the colour of the dash and lights up the correct colour to match the dash it can look quite good i got the proper dash panel for a customer and put in a becker indianapolis pro 7952 "red illumination":) and it looked fantastic radio cd mp3 ipod and bluetooth ,
the usual adapter panels hold the stero off to the passengers side so that you dont have to mod the rear of the dash lots less work but looks wrong

they dont have to just a lot of people dont pick the right headunit to complement the dash and very few actually get the right panel as i said the proper bmw panel holds the stereo in the center of the gap and look a lot better

inisowen girl ill make a few calls today and let you know this evening who is in the donegal area who could do this job for you properly J.(Auto Electrical Concepts)

Theres a place in Donegal town on the Killybegs Road behind Mc Groarty's Electrical shop that specialise in car audio. they will fit it and prob b able to get ya whatever you are after. Quite helpful as i went into him on sat to get a stereo which i had bought elsewhere installed (as i dont like wires..) and he had the job dont in 15 mins
