320d deadlock

    Hi
I have just bought a 06 320d and have question if anyone can help.
When you unlock the car but don't start it straight away it won't start if left a few minutes. A lock symbol appears on the dash computer.
I presume this is a deadlock function incase you accidentally leave the car unlocked.
PITA today because I unlocked the car, got the baby out of her buggy and into the car seat, put the buggy in the boot, packed the shopping then went to start the car.
I locked and unlocked the car and held various buttons on the remote and eventually managed to get going but am not sure what I did.
There is obviously an easy way to reset the lock using the remote but it's not in the manual/handbook.
It has the push button start/stop.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Michael

doesnt sound normal to be honest. on my 2005 320d (same shape as your 06 one), ive left the car open for an hour or two during the hot days last week and went out and hoped in and it started up first time no probs.

maybe its an anti start thing thinking you opened the car by mistake? but as soon as you open the door or the boot the OBD should know that the unlock button wasnt pressed by mistake.

im in Joe Duffy BMW in the morning for a fre DNA check and i will ask one of the lads if this is a feature or a problem and let you know.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
    After googling I found this

    picture3fph.png
I am getting the yellow warning which means the steering lock is jammed.

    and also this

It seems the steering wheel lock is coming on if the car is not started within a couple of minutes. I will check tomorrow if moving the steering wheel before attempting to start the car works. I don't know if this is a fault or a feature.
I actually bought the car from Duffy's so I will call them Monday about it.
BTW where did you get the remap done and how much did it cost?
