    Me and a few friends are looking to book a holiday for July. We'll be going for 1 week and want to spend about €600 max on flights/accom so we're thinking a package holiday will be our best bet.

    I've never been on a package holiday before so I'm kinda at a loss as to where to pick. We want somewhere with a good hotel, nice beach and decent nightlife. We're all 20/21 so we don't really want to go anywhere that's going to be Leaving Cert central.

    Was looking at Greece but a bit worried about the high July temperatures. From reading around, I'm guessing I'd want to avoid Tenerife and Gran Canaria but is Lanzarote any good?

    Can anyone suggest anywhere else for us? :)

    I'd recommend Portugal. It's not that expensive compared to alot of european destinations, the weather isn't too hot and it has plenty of things to keep you busy!
    Good look with your choice!

    I'm just being nosey but why avoid Tenerife, we're thinking of going there this year.:)

    Thanks, hadn't looked into Portugal at all yet actually. I'll have a look :)

    Sorry, don't want to be puttin you off! It's just that I've heard bad things about Playa de las Americas and Playa del Ingles. I'm sure there are other nice places in Tenerife though.
