hey all, im training for a 400km charity cycle for next march and yes i know thats a long way off but I decided to get into some sort of a decent shape.
i have currently worked out a fitness plan for the summer while off college. it consists of
100km on the bike each week increasing every week or two weeks
3-4km swim a week usually over 3 days.

i have been using sugar free fruit squash and the odd bottle of lucozade, can anyone recommend anything else
    thanks

    Nuun tablets or dioralyte.

I use Nuun or Zym - flavoured electrolyte tablets that disolve in water.
But a little bit of salt in your water (maybe diluted with some fruit squash) is as good.

Tend to drink about a litre of fluid at least before a 100km + cycle (maybe an hour before), otherwise nature calls.

Also, drink regularly on the bike. Maybe different for different folk, but I would tend to get thru 1.25L of fluid per 50km. But does depend on terrain, weather etc.
But I do like to drink a lot of water anyway.

I like lime(or is it lemon and lime?) flavoured Zym tablets. Actually like is a strong word. Tolerate.

Tried dioralyte. Blackcurrant flavour is terrible. Tried the other dioralyte flavours (plain & lemon/lime) on the advice of folk here and they're better.

I used High 5 sachets for the first time last weekend on the W200, the green carb/protein mix, handy for getting some nutrition in as well as hydrating. Easy on the palate and the stomach, much more so than the yellow Powerbar stuff at the top of Slieve Maan.

Yeah, Kenmc recommended that flavour to me, but I suspect his playful/sadistic streak was at work.

The natural stuff is handy for adding to "squash of your choice".

Man, that was so, so bad. I actually felt physically ill after trying some there. Never to be repeated. How do people tolerate that stuff, and I say that as a person with a pretty strong constitution when it comes to food/drink.

Waaa. And I thought I was bad at 1 bottle per 50km on a normal day.
