steady on here folks re speed keys etc. If it is a programmable key expect to shell out over 200 lids. I have a 04 5 series and got a new key from an approved locksmith in tallaght. They take all your details, licence , car reg book etc...bm then send them the codes etc. I expect audi is the same.....so no free lunches here I think.

You're looking at around €200 for a new key from a dealer. Priced one a year ago for my wife's A2.

You can buy reconditioned keys on eBay and get them cut. However, you need to know somebody with diagnostic software to match the key to the car.

I got a key for my A3 recently, €42.50 inc. VAT. from VW.

I was able to code it myself using VAGCOM, but they only wanted €80 to do it themselves. Still alot for 5mins 'work' but cheaper then buying VAGCOM yourself!

€190 for a key is madness.

Autokey.ie, they're the people to see

I'd advise contacting a company called autokey in Tallaght. I've seen mixed opinions of them here but I got my FANTASTIC RENAULT KEYCARD repaired there for 100e. €120 cheaper than replacing it through the dealer.
