They will want to know what rooms you want the digital box installed in etc..and where u want your phone installed to. This isnt self explanatory as some people havent a clue where they want anything put into...

Ah right.....I wasnt thinking along those lines. I thought they meant what package he wanted.

So can he get the phone installed in the hall?

What about the broadband. He wants it centrally located for to use with 3 rooms? Is it possible?

    Any help would be great.

    :)

Did he not see this bit?
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Also I'm confused as to the downgrade charge. If he's downgrading to that package, what does he currently have? And how can he avail of special 3 month pricing?

As regards phone, has he got DECT cordless phones? If so he can put the base station where the cable modem is placed (which will be beside a current NTL/UPC outlet) and then the cordless handsets can obviously be used anywhere.

As regards broadband - not sure he'll get a wireless router on that package. Check with UPC, but they are cheap enough to buy.

Honestly I told him I'd ask here for him as it would be quicker for an answer.

He had a disney channel for his niece and nephew, but there that bit older now. I So thats how he's downgrading. Im not sure about the 3 month thing, I done it online for him.

Thanks for all the answers lads. Roll on the installation tomorrow.

Expecting a few phone calls from him. LOL :D

Just on this - if he's downgrading in terms of dropping a couple of Disney channels but upgrading in terms of broadband and phone, I'd push to get the downgrade charge dropped. Seems unreasonable to charge it when he's not purely downgrading. He's doing more upgrading than downgrading!!

Mind you, in saying that, he's getting an introductory price on the new package and they could argue he's not really entitled to that as an existing customer. I'm sure the 3 month discounted rate adds up to more than a tenner.

    No harm in asking though.

Oh and one more thing - tell him to ask the installer for a wireless router. I got one before from them because my PC wasn't near a UPC point. I added a cable run myself later on, but they do give out wirless routers to save them having to do more cabling.

    Again, no harm in asking!

Cheers Paulo. When I went to their website, it gave an option for new and existing customers. I just followed all the links and thats what came up. So I presume their new and existing customers are getting the same deal!! Or so it would seem, or maybe Im wrong. Sure the father will let me know.
    :D

As of 4pm they were a no show.
