    I'll chance a reply here.

There was a suggestion that the FT team could get back together but Connie Booth certainly made it clear she has no interest in returning to her role. I don't think it'll ever happen and if it did, it would be like the misbeggoten The Legacy of Reginald Perrin.

Actually, Fawlty Towers is often shown on BBC.

UKGold do always show them over and over as well. When I'm back at home it always good to fill in those awkward silences!! RTE do wheel it out every now and again too.

Cleese is a legend though, one of the all-time great TV shows

Ferris, welcome to boards. You have a full keyboard, please use it (seriously, txt spk is against the charter, and will make you very unpopular if you keep using it) :)

I saw the reunion show on G.O.L.D. a few months ago, it was very good. By god Connie looks old now, though....

I watched the reunion show and what makes the second series more amazing was what was going on in their personal lives (Connie Booth and John Cleese). One of the greatest comedies ever. When you see other countries remaking it all you can do is cringe at how bad the remake is and thank heavens for the original. When Cleese told the story of him being approached by somebody doing a remake without BASIL I think this said it all. By the Reggie Perrin absolutely dire.

She sure does. I never realised she was American either

    They did a reunion??

I still have the tapes me ol lad made of when they originally aired on tv. They even have a few seconds of adds from the time and a few seconds of heart to heart.

Yes, it's a classic comedy series. I saw that reunion show recently and it was excellent. I was surprised they managed to get Connie Booth to appear on it seeing as she's not turned up on any programs about it before. She looked very uncomfortable I thought. The shows used to be on TV a lot but I guess if Ferris hasn't seen them, they've not been on TV as much as we thought.

Edit: ScumLord - they did a reunion documentary on G.O.L.D. not too long ago. Here's an article about it and a photo.

no, really? i'd never have guessed!

I can just about remember RTE airing it in the early 80's and then repeats in the late 80's. one of the best to grace our screens IMO.

It does be on RTÉ from time to time as well.

Great show alright, always get the DVD out from time to time. I remember the episode with David Kelly as O'Reilly, the Irish builder "thick, Irish joke" as Cybil called him. :D It would have people in uproar today.

I remember every Thursday Night at 10pm being brought down from bed to watch this show because My parents thought we needed to see the show.

Still love this show one of the best all time comedies.

You definitely couldn't make the show today, like his reaction to the black doctor in the Germans episode.
