Does anyone know/recommend a place where they service outboard motors - just bought a fishing boat and want the motor serviced.

BTW - if u know roughty how much a service costs on these things that would also be great.

A couple of questions back at you:
What sort of Outbaord is it (Manufacturer)?
What part of Galway are you located?
    Are you ever in Headford?

There are a lot of people to service them. Answer the above to get the best answer.

    25hp JOHNSON motor

    Athenry

Not really - but i'll mainly be launching boat into the corrib from anaghdown - so can't see much trouble going up to headford if needs be.

is it pricey to service them?

I'd bring it to Duffy's in Headford. He specialises in Johnsons. He is good for boats and tackle too.
I would not bring it to Harry's or Ivors. Bring your bike to them.

    Good Luck.

P.S. - Do anybody else know if Arch motors still look after Evinrude?
