hi just wondering is it possible to find value bets and make a longterm profit if betfair take a 5% commission??
I have read how professional gamblers bets are dictated by getting the right odds . Say i calculate my the odds of a horse being placed and i think the odds on offer are too low so i lay the horse at say 4% lower than what i have calulated the horses place odds should be, i should make profit in the long term but with betfairs 5% commission it seems that this is near impossible as i would at best if i have the odds calculated exactly right would only now have a 1% edge. So just wondering how do the pros make any real money ?
    Thanks
    Andrew

There is more to pro betting than looking for tiny percentage differences in odds or lines. At the end of the day its about picking more winners than losers, sound bankroll management and staying disciplined.

It's 5% of your profits so your profit would be 3.8%.
