Tax on internal flights

    Recently flew to Kerry from Dublin. We were charged taxes by Ryanair. Is there normally taxes on internal flgihts. Ithought there wasnt. Am I wrong?

    Airport taxes and charges would still apply.

    It is wrong for them to call almost* any of the charges "taxes" as that suggests some kind of government involvement. They are merely charges by the various airports for you passing through and using their facilities and will also be based on the size of the plane that you are flying on.


    *It just happens that the government did decide that they wanted a slice of the pie as well in a recent budget, but I'm pretty sure taht until then they didn't get anything from any "taxes and charges" that may have been applied to flights in previous years.
