After an accident with a hot iron, I need to either have a patch of carpet replaced, or replace the whole room. Which would people advise? Can a patch be replaced invisibly or will it look obvious? Is there anyone out there who does carpet repair?

If I'm getting the whole lot replaced, can anyone advise the best place to get the carpet from and laid cheaply?

    Thanks,

    P.

    It depends....

If the carpet is "walked in/worn" then patching in a new piece will look supstantially different. It the carpet is decent quality, and is in good condition then a good fitter will be able to join in a piece no problems, pretty much invisibily, but if you get down to look for the patch you will find it.

Look carpet prices is like asking how much is a cheap car, you can get carpets from €3.99 per sq yard, it depends on how much you want to spend, most decent retailers will have a selection of qualities and prices.
