    Old Clint Eastwood movie right.

To anyone who has seen it - Im perplexed as hell. Not your modern day cinema at all. So much goes on in that movie that is totally, absolutely, pointless.
You're waiting for everything to tie together nicely at the end and instead it all just gets run over and people get shot.

Maybe someone can explain this movie to me. I guess I should have known better to try and find a Stan Marsh set of morals at the end (I learned something today...) because on the first view the entire movie is pointless except to show off what a badass Eastwood is... and thats it.

It actually does not show up on the list of Spaghetti Westerns.

Given that it was filmed in Mono Lake, California, from a location standpoint, you are correct. But the screenplay was influenced by the work of Eastwood's two major collaborators Sergio Leone and Don Siegel, and Sergio Leone was the Italian film director, producer and screenwriter most often associated with the Spaghetti Western genre.

Forget Josey Wales and Unforgiven. I think this is Eastwoods best Western. I particularily love the ambiguous ending.

    (Not a spag western btw).

Easily one of my favorite westerns. The fusion of gothic and supernatural themes with the western genre is such a unique idea.

it's like comparing this movie to the wraith. basically the same idea only different times.
the jist of the movie is about someone who gets murdered/killed before their time is up and comes back to avenge those that killed them. as i mentioned earlier the wraith with charlie sheen is a perfect example.

Probably my favourite Clint Eastwood film. It has a really cynical sense of humour throughout and some really good supporting cast. A grand finalé followed by an ending that makes you go 'Ooooohhhhhh......'

Supernatural revenge is a good take on the western and it had a bit of a religious message as he rises from the dead and makes the town pay for their sins.

Some people should not be allowed to watch anything other than Adam Sandler movies.

    I don't know about a religious message.
He paints the church red and renames the town HELL
. Sounds the very opposite mind you.

Which is a religious message... There is no Hell without Heaven. Both must exist if you believe in one of them. Where do you pay for your sins? Hell!
