I have looked through the Dell site and laptops direct, but I am terrified I am missing something and money is glued inside my pocket at the minute.
The ideal would be like the inspiron 6400 type laptop, will only be used for payroll and spread sheets.

    Any suggestions?

If I could write the price myself I would really love to be spending less than €400 smackers.

    Thanks:D

Why 2GB's? Most laptops with 2GB's are usually high end. I personally think you should get a laptop with 1GB, and buy an extra 1GB seperately. Memory from new laptops is quite often cheap.

    /edit

    example:

€368 Laptop with 1GB's of RAM

€15 1GB for RAM for the above laptop:

Elara will send it out to you, or, if you live in Dublin, you can pick it up from them once it arrives into their depot.

Just an idea. But look around. The above is a laptop with a 15" screen. There are laptops with only a 10" screen, but as they're fairly small, I don't think it's what you'd want to work on for a long time. Look around, and if you find a laptop with only1GB of RAM, ask the lads & ladies at http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=9 if they wouldn't mind checking the price of RAM. They may even find laptops cheaper than the one you find, that fits what you want.

    Happy hunting.
