No Health Insurance and Cancer

    Hi all,

Looking for some information in relation to having no health insurance and cancer.
A good friend of mine has just been diagnosed with cancer but doesn't have any private health insurance.
Is this going to cost her or would PRSI cover any of it?

    Any feedback would be great

    Thanks

Wrong board to post on but.....

Healthcare in Ireland is essentially free to all Irish and EU patients. This is not the case for non-EU patients.

An Irish/EU person with Cancer will get treated regardless of insurance/PRSI etc
