    Any advice, I'm cork based

My 3 year old seems to have mangled the cd player in my Car about a year ago (It's a Honda FRV)

Went to Honda and they suggested a fix price of 1800 euros as it's integrated with the air con and all that other stuff.

I assume this rules out replacing the cd/radio with an of the shelf type

So is there a way to reoslve this cheaply, and my kids can listen to nursery rhymes again.

buy a new car stereo and a replacement facia for the dashboard that will replace the old one...mate of mine did it with his Toyota Corolla

Often newer cars have the ability to add a multi disc cd changer to use with the factory fitted stereo, this is normally mounted in the boot of the car. Its likely that you could pick up the right one and its wiring loom from ebay.co.uk from under €100. You will need to find the exact model number of your stereo though to be sure of compatability/availbility.

Buy a discman/mp3 player, and an fm transmitter.

Oh yeah, not a bargain alert.

In a similar vein tho, my other half has a Honda Fit (imported version of the Jazz) with a japanese-tuned stereo unit. Like the OP, it seems to be integrated into the centre console/aircon, so I too would be interested in finding out if this can be replaced easily/cheaply enough? :)
