Okay so I've reached a point where I've forgotten everything I learnt in singing lessons when I was younger. I play bass and sing at the same time which affects my concentration when trying to remember posture, breathing etc. I was wondering is there anywhere I can go to get decent, private voice coaching of the non-classical type, preferably in the Dublin area.

Somebody who could help me increase my range and show me how I can hit the high notes and put an edge on my voice without straining it. Are you out there?

check out these videos, thats the first part, they are just simple exercises but you would be surprised how big a different they can make and can help improve your range too but honestly i don't think you can do any more than that

things that can effect a vocal peformance

    Weight
    Chocloate
    coffee
    smoking
actually if you search it you'll find that some people say everything can effect the voice which i think is crap.... i would say the thing that matters most when your singing is confidence...a knock to that and you can end up thinking yourself into having a bad voice.

drink a glass of water about half and hour before peformance. in fact drinking more water cant be a bad thing in any case

reherse like mad yourself at home playing and singing... make mistakes and dont be afraid to make them. every mistake is one step closer to getting to the place you want to be at.

you will need to get to a point where you dont have to think about your voice when playing it's just second nature.

    best of luck
    Ed
