We remember some things with such clarity because the choice was so limited imo. Now there is so much choice and in fairness nothing tastes like it used to. Chipsticks would burn the beak off you back then!

My mad uncles have a dresser full of the wildlife set from Esso that came out years ago. Free plates, cups, saucers, when you bought fuel. Anyone remember what year that was?

I wonder what the next generation are going to remember.

I remember when Taytos were 2½p. Actually I lie, kind of. I remember when they were 4p and once I saw a discarded wrapper in our garden when my mother was planting flowers that said 2½p and I was amazed. I have no reason why that stuck in my mind.

I saw them in the gift shop in Dublin Zoo last week. I can also remember Big Time wrappers being green and them having green minty fondant in the middle instead of toffee. Can someone verify this or is it my imagination? Ps I remember Tayto being 6p. I remember Ricky Rasper ice pops for 3p..(and Captain Quencher, Little Angel, Little Devil, Dracula, Jr and later on there were Freaky Foot and Thataway ice pops)

Ted, my earliest economic memory is of Tayto costing 3p and Mr Spud crisps costing 2p. I also remember a few years later being annoyed and embarrassed when Tayto went from 5p to 6p and I was stood in the shop with only a shilling.

Were they not Mint Crisps...something along the lines of the macaroon bars that were 10p as well. Still see them round.

No they were totally different from mint crisps. I think they were out in mint first, then both mint and toffee, then the mint one disappeared. I was very young. It was the type of fondant that was stiff, when you'd bite into it, an imprint of your teeth would remain.

This is a bit disgusting but anyway... every Saturday night my bro and I would be given our weekly bath and my Nan would stop by after doing her weekly shop in Quinnsworth and she'd pop in with our treat of a TIME bar or a red apple ( red apples were quite posh and a bit of a novelty 25 years ago). We were probably about 7 and 5 at the time and if we were still in the bath when she arrived we'd start dipping the bar in the bath water to soften it up and then we'd eat away...the innocence :o then mam would take us out one at a time and cuddle us in a bath towel off the hot radiator and our pj's would be kept warm on another radiator...the simple things ;)

Taz bars and Freddo bars ..... think you can still get these !?

Does anyone remember those crazy rubber bracelets that were all the rage in the early 90's? I used to have hundreds of them ... all different colours.

Also do you remember drawing on the footpath with chalk?

    Aahh those were the days!

I'm not sure about Taz bars anymore, but most sweet shops still do the freddo bars. I remember when they were 5p, now their 20c.
