Someone offered me a scholarship to do a phd while its great and something thats always interested me I'm wondering whats a typical way of supplimenting your income without killing your tax exemption ?

I'd be looking for a couple of hundred a month just as buffer money over the few years funding I have.

The college has no teaching / lab jobs available.
