    Agreed !

    The Italians have always had a flair for airshows. Their display team Frecce Tricolori were always my favorite.

    They may not have the total precision that the Red Arrows have , but my god they can fly. I remember watching these at Oshkosh ( EAA Fly in ) one year and they totally silenced / wowed the very partisan American crowd. At one point one of their number did a tail slide , something I was under the impression that was technically impossible in a jet ( later when the ex soviets started displaying we saw this a lot more ).

    I as a ' hardened embittered ' spotter during the 70's and 80's wouldn't have crossed the road to watch the Red Arrows ( I saw them all the time ) , however these guys were different .

    The only thing i dont like about the FT is that their smoke splutters out rather then flows freely like a Red Arrows smoke display.
