    Hi lads,

Just in case any of you would be interested, my girlfriend's father has just had his second book released. His name is Paddy Cummins. Some of you may know him. He's been an aviation enthusiast for about 50 years and `The Irish Air Corps - An Illustrated Guide' is the fruition of a lot of those years' work. I'm no expert but I think it catalogues pretty much all Irish Air Corps aircraft since its formation.

It's been released as co-authored with Joe Maxwell.

I can find out what retailers will be selling it if you like? I think he may have some himself but he's told me that the postage is quite expensive as it's heavy.

This page might be of use?

It seems you can buy it online from that website.

I'll find out if any national retailers will be selling it anyway.

OP - I think I bought your Dad's first book - are the chapters arranged by decade in it?

If so, it was a lovely piece of work. How does the second book differ?

This is a great book for anyone with an aviation interest, irish or otherwise.

I was only taking to Paddy about it last week, he was showing me some of the photography. He has put a lot of effort in along with Joe Maxwell.

    An absolute must have !

My Dad-in-law to be but thanks! His first book was 'Emergency Air Incidents South-East Ireland 1940-1945'. It was specifically to do with the South East region.

The second book is detailing all the aircraft of the Irish Air Corps since its inception. He's done an incredible amount of research. I've seen it being formed over the past eight years and the work he's done is incredible.

That's a nice endoresment :) It seems he's highly regarded in aviation circles in Ireland anyway.

It's against the site wide rules of boards to shill - in otherwords to promote products for sale unless you pay for an advert. You're permitted to announce the book, but leave the sales promotion out of it please.

Was that the book entitled 'Landfall'?

Edit - that was by Donal MacCarron - "Landfall Ireland - Downed Military Aircraft in Neutral Ireland 1939-1945" (2003)

Will be interesting to see what sources your father-in-law to be has drawn from!

Oh right sorry about that. I didn't know I was doing something wrong.
