White dots on screen

I only have a couple of games but when I put certain ones in I see all these little white dots appear when the screen is black. Like when the "Playstion 3" logo comes up while a disc is loading. It looks like at a movie theatre when the screen is dark you can see all those tiny white dots that are moving.

When I turn on my machine it is perfect, no white dots. The whole interface section is fine, broadcasting in 1080 with crystal clarity, no imperfections. When I put Call of Duty WAW in the PS3 it loads up fine, no white dots at any time during loading or gameplay. FIFA 09 is the same, no problems at all.

Unfortunately the dots are prevalent on the other two games I have; COD MW and Motor Storm. But I don't think they were always there on those games, I would surely have noticed. I would assume the discs are damaged but I downloaded the Infamous demo and the dots appear when I load that up. Albeit somewhat less so.

Does anyone know what is up? Should I take out the HDMI cable and re-connect it, re-boot the system? If anyone knows or had this problem help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You should try reconnecting the HDMI cable, same thing happened with my friends PS3 and he reconnected it and it works just fine
