Half the population lives in Dublin and only about 1 contestant in 30 is from dublin.

Something seems fishy. Do the lottery put 5 people from each county into each bin and then pick out the contestants. It seems to me at least 1/3 of participants should be from dublin. Yet leitrum has more contestants than dublin ?

A third of the population live in Dublin, maybe people outside Dublin are just lucky not to be living in Dublin.

The €13 million lottery winner with the ticket bought in Dalkey was from the west.......

Dublin is simply cursed, get out while you still can.

There is nearly always at least one competitor from Dublin on the winning streak show. Sometimes two

    I noticed this too.

More to the point, why is it nearly always old people or middle aged people on the show? Do they have a policy of not letting under 30's on the show? It's young people starting out in life that need the money the most!

I think we have a winner!!!
Yes, studies have shown that since old people buy 6 times as many tickets as everyone else combined, they're on it the most, and as we know, most old people live outside of dublin, cos they can't figure out the pedestrian crossings.

As most dubs are currently on the dole, cause all us Boggers came up and took all their jobs; they don't have the 5c coin required to scratch the panels on the winning streak cards.

on a tv show about 10 years ago now, they showed them doing this, so it's not just a myth, not sure if they do it any more tho

Presuming this is this the show with Marty Wheelan & Kathryn Thomas?
Appalling TV, absolutely appalling, cheap as chips TV of the worst kind, and I find it hard to believe that Kathryn signed up for this trash after doing such a fine stint on 'No Frontiers' (which was a very polished production). And as for the audience with the playschool placards :pac:

Winning Streak has been going since, believe it or not, 1992.

Wonder if auld wans from outside of Dublin were by far the most common contestants back then as well?
