Everyone who races probably owns more than one bike. First of all you have your hack bike which you save for winter and wet days. You don't take too good care of this bike but you still love it. You call it your hack bike but it still probably cost a crazy amount of money. The only reason that it became your hack bike is because you read too many bike mags and the relentless Colnago/Cervelo/Look/DeRosa/Specialized adverts wore you down and you bought that carbon fibre beauty.

What's the story with the Orwell guy in the placings- is the Swords league basically just "Swords" but members of any other club can turn up and compete (seems that way from the rider lists, overwhelmingly Swords, and then "other"?)

Dunno for sure, but there are a few riders from Dublin Wheelers, Stamullen, Orwell and even someone from Wexford who ride.

Robfowl? Do ya have to be explicitly invited or what?

Its open to Swords, Dublin Wheelers, Stamullen, Orwell specifiaclly and other visitors. Technically limited to no more than 5 clubs per race but not too strict re this (don't quote me !).

Ps that was me in 4th (course designed for fat sprinters )

Can orwell riders just show up on the night or do I need to contact someone beforehand?

From what I've seen, you show up say you're a visitor at sign on, give your CI licence no, pay a fiver and choose a group.

I'm open to correction so email swordscc@eircom.net.

    choose a group.

Just choose the right group for your ability. Unlike a certain un-named rider from last night.
